Transport Integration Fund
The aim of the ScotRail Transport Integration Fund is to create practical benefits for
customers by improving links between rail and other forms of transport. The value of
the fund is £100,000, with a minimum of £10,000 per project available from ScotRail
All projects must be at least 50% matched funded, but can exceed the minimum 50%
match funding, for example through additional contributions from other partners. All
match funding must be in place at time of application. Only one application can be
made to the Fund per organisation.
Applications should demonstrate how the project will improve links between rail and
other forms of transport. Though not exhaustive, the examples below illustrate the
type of project which may be considered:
Promotion of existing or new bus links to stations
Improvements to walking routes between rail and other transport modes such
as bus stations and ferry terminals
Enhanced information for onward travel at transport interchanges
Measures to encourage car sharing for journeys to the station
Improved walking and cycling routes linking residential / employment /
education / health locations to stations
We are also happy to discuss other specific or innovative ideas you may have.
Applications which demonstrate good partnership work and coordination across
local stakeholders will be prioritised.
Examples of activity which would not be supported by the Fund include:
Pre-construction, design or feasibility work
Projects which lack genuine innovation, such as additional cycle parking
Maintenance or renewal of existing equipment or initiatives
Projects which create a maintenance burden beyond the life of the project,
except where solutions are clearly identified in the application (eg. maintenance
absorbed into existing duties by an established organisation)
Projects which don’t support travel to stations by more sustainable means (eg.
additional conventional car parking spaces)
Projects which involve significant engineering, groundworks or modifications to
power, comms or plumbing
Completed applications must be received by Friday 29
th
March 2019.
