2016 Scholarship
Dear Applicant:
The CCCEOPSA Scholarship Committee selected Columbia College to have the distinction of awarding one
EOPS student a $1000 scholarship for Fall 2016.
Minimum Qualifications:
You MUST
Be an active EOPS student (Spring 2016),
Have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA,
Have completed at least 24 semester units by the end of Spring 2016,
Be enrolled in a minimum of 9 units at Columbia College or at a 4-year college in Fall 2016;
and
The scholarship will be presented at the Statewide EOPS conference in Monterey Bay, CA,
scheduled for November 9
th
, 2016. Travel and accommodations will be paid by EOPS.
Application Packet Checklist:
1. Application
2. Unofficial college transcripts from ALL colleges attended
3. A recommendation letter from a counselor or instructor; preferably from a non-EOPS
source.
4. Personal statement (two-page maximum, please follow the attached Personal Statement
Guidelines and its recommendations.)

Personal Statement Guidelines
Instructions:
Your statement MUST be typed, double spaced, 12-font, 1-inch margins and no more than 2
pages. Your personal statement should include some or all of the following:
1. Educational and career goals
2.
How EOPS at Columbia College has assisted you in achieving your goals.
3.
Particular hardships, circumstances, school activities or individuals that have influenced
your preparation or motivation to attend college. You may wish to include information on
cultural and/or financial background, family, instructors, schools, programs, etc.
4.
How this scholarship will benefit you as you pursue your academic goals.
