Pre-Gear Speech
It is very important to cover these points with the guys before ANY gear is handed out. Lead by
example. If you respect the equipment and take good care of it, they will too. Remember that any lost
or damaged equipment is money out of your pocket.
Equipment:
1. Chin Strap
2. Belt
3. Hip Pad
4. Pants
5. Jersey
Speech: Don’t Cut Anything!
1. Dont Cut Jerseys. Show jersey and under sleeve. Don’t cut it or it will shred and we will
remove you from the field.
2. Dont Cut Hip Pads. Show Hip Pads “Do not have to wear, but if you do, we don’t use
girdles because of laundry. I got tired of digging through them to pull pads out. DON’T
CUT THEM. You don’t have to wear them.
3. Dont Cut Belts. Show Belt & Pants. Show how they weave through the slots with hip
pad. DON’T cut the belts shorter. Tape them or fold them under & tuck in.
4. Dont Cut Pants. DON’T cut the back of the knee area. Get a bigger pair if they don’t fit.
5. Dont Cut Chin Strap. DON’T cut it shorter.
Lastly, be nice. Come in one at a time. Remember if the ladies at the desk are upset, I’ll be back, and
you have no idea what upset is. One thing is sure, we’ll all be upset!

Pre Kick-Off Speech
Directly after the coin toss
Team kneels down around the 50 yard line on their sideline:
1. Guysthis is football.
For every guy who gets the big hit…someone gets big hit. If you’re the guy that gets big hit,
get up shake your head, slap yourself and get ready for the next play. Illegal retaliation will
get you ejected. You’ll get your chance at a later date. If you can see the other players’ eyes
and the whistle hasn’t blown…knock him out. But if you cheap shot him…you’ll be dealt with.
We expect you to play right on the edge, but do not go over the line.
2. There are a few rules you need to remember:
1. No blitzing
This means you can have up to 4 guys in a 3 or 4 point stance and they’re the only ones
who can rush the quarterback in the pocket. If he leaves the pocket, anyone can go get
him.
2. No Crack-Back block from wideouts
On the crack back block, you must plant both feet, sink your hips and lead with your
hands. If you run through the defender, it will be a 15 yard penalty. The second time it is
done by anyoneguys will be ejected.
3. Long Snap Rushing
On any long snap; Punt, extra point, field goalyou can rush everyonebut you cannot
touch the center and you cannot rush through “A” Gap.
4. Fighting is an automatic ejection
Throwing a punch will be considered fighting.
5. Celebrations Encouraged
Lastly, you can celebrate, but you cannot taunt the other team. Taunting is an automatic
ejection.
