The A.A.S. in Criminal Justice is designed to prepare students for careers within the criminal justice system. The
program offers a combination of liberal arts and specialized career courses to help students upon entry into the criminal
justice field. The curriculum is offered for those already employed in the criminal justice profession as well as for high
school students interested in pursuing careers with local, state or private agencies within the field. Students are
encouraged to seek assistance from criminal justice faculty in making course selections to fit their career goals and
interests. Those students interested in transferring to obtain a bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
should consult advisers regarding our A.A. degree in General Studies
This degree is a career program and may not readily transfer to four year colleges/universities (except in special cases.)

CCJS electives include CJ 211/CCJS 211, CJ 216/CCJS 216, CJ 222/CCJS 222,
CJ 232/CCJS 232, CJ 246/CCJS 246, CJ 250/CCJS 250, and CJ 255/CCJS 255.
Students can also use CJ 111/CCJS 201 or CJ 230/CCJS 230 as a CCJS elective if
not already used to satisfy a program requirement.
