Federal Pell Grant Awards and Disbursements
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
__________ I understand my Federal Pell Grant check must first be used to pay for all of my
Initial program’s tuition, fees and books before it can be used for anything else.
__________ I understand if I spend my Federal Pell Grant check on non-school related items that I
Initial may be responsible for covering my tuition and book charges for the following term if I
do not meet the federal attendance requirements.
__________ I understand that each check I receive requires me to complete a pre-determined number
Initial of hours set forth by the Federal government before I am eligible for additional Pell
funds.
__________ I understand my Federal Pell Grant award may not be enough to cover all of my
Initial educational expenses and that I will be required to pay any remaining expenses
out of pocket.
__________ I understand my expected Pell award dates are scheduled for the year based on 100%
Initial attendance and that Federal Financial Aid funds are based on clock hours (daily
attendance), not terms/semesters.
__________ I understand I will be given a one-time book authorization to begin my program. Once
Initial I receive my Pell Grant check I am responsible for purchasing all remaining books that
are required for my program. No additional book authorizations will be given for the
year.
__________ I understand absenteeism, tardiness and/or early class departures can impact my
Initial ability to meet the Federal guidelines outlining clock hour requirements and I will be
responsible for paying my educational expenses out of pocket. There will be no
exceptions to the Federal regulations that dictate how funds or checks are
distributed at a clock hour school.
I have read the above information and understand my responsibilities as a Sheridan Technical College
student. I further acknowledge that this is a clock hour school and I am required to attend class in order to
earn my Federal Pell Grant.
