The basic skills requirement can be met in one of two ways: by earning passing scores on a college- entrance exam
(either the SAT or ACT), or by successfully passing the PAPA exam. Qualifying scores must be on file before you
can be admitted to the Teacher Education Program. If you received a qualifying score on the SAT or ACT and
reported it to Gettysburg College when you matriculated you do not need to send another score report; if you need to
take PAPA, be sure your scores are sent to the Education Department. Information on PAPA can be obtained at
