Only irrigated crop acres or intensive livestock operation acres can be included
Minimum of five year agreements. Longer terms will be given preference for funding
Minimum of 40 acres to participate
Must agree to a Water Use Permit Review/Update if needed (participation in the pilot program

POTENTIAL STRATEGIES FOR LOW INTENSITY AG OPERATIONS
(Not an all-inclusive list)
Convert the operation from a traditional row crop operation to a grass based rotation, or
Convert from a higher intensity 3-crop rotation (i.e. corn, sorghum, and ryegrass) to a lower
intensity crop rotation (i.e. peanuts, peas, grass, etc.), including areas irrigated by center pivot end
guns, or
Convert from row crop and/or hay operation to a forestry operation, or
Convert from a row crop and/or hay operation to a lower density (FDACS BMP approved rate)
cow-calf operation.
For livestock operations with higher stocking rates per acre, conversions could include, among
other things, the following:
o Conversion to a less intensive operation (fewer or no animal units). Examples include
conversion to a timber, hay or grass based rotation, or a 2-crop rotation operation like a
peanuts/other legumes/rye rotation.
