Bethany College recognizes the rising cost of higher education and strives to be an
affordable option for all prospective students and families. Approximately 90 percent of
our students receive financial assistance. Bethany offers the Presidential Scholarship as
well as the Honors and Kalon Leaders Programs as competitive awards. The Competitive
Scholarship competition will include two rounds for the 2021-2022 academic year.
Round 1: students will submit short answers to a series of questions and activity sheets
for review. Applications will be evaluated determine if a student will be invited to
interview in Round 2 for either the Honors or Kalon programs.
Round 2: students will be selected to interview in round two based on their short answers. In round
two, students will not only have a scheduled Zoom interview with a group of interviewers but also
have to provide a response to an essay question that will be provided before the Zoom interview. As
a result of these interviews, a candidate may be nominated by the interview group for the award(s)
that best matches not only how they can contribute to the individual scholarship/award group but
also to the Bethany College campus and student experience. Students exhibiting stellar academic,
leadership, and personal characteristics may be nominated for the Presidential Scholarship along with
their Honors or Kalon program offer.
Please review the eligibility requirements and deadlines carefully before proceeding to the
Competitive Scholarship Application. Should you have any questions, please contact the Center for
Enrollment at 304.829.7611.

Program to maintain my full-tuition scholarship. If awarded the Presidential Scholarship, I will be placed, by the
Competitive Scholarship team, in either the Honors or Kalon program based on which is a better fit for not only

Scholarship dollars as they cannot be combined with Honors or Kalon awards. I also understand that Competitive
