Course Learning Outcomes:
Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will:
Be able to describe the roles and responsibilities of advanced EMS personnel within the EMS system; apply
concepts of pathophysiology and pharmacology to the assessment and management of emergency patients;
administer medications; employ effective communication; and interpret medical/legal issues; demonstrate
ethical behaviors; and discuss well-being of the paramedic.
Methods of Assessment:
Computer Based Exams, critical skills development, scenario assessments, assessment graphs, patient care
assessments, oral interviews, critical thinking skills, various hands on skills evaluations and decision making
exercises.
